The W Hotel is awesome. Installment 2
Reflective room numbers hang on a hook next to the door so that you can see which  room is yours even if you are at the end of the hall.

The W Hotel is awesome. Installment 1
I stayed at the W for the first time ever and was blown away by how all the tiny little things they do add up to such a big positive experience.
I knew this place was going to be interesting as soon as I stepped into an elevator and was greeted, not by stale air, but by the smell of scented oils and incense.

Nice try by the the Phoenix Design Week crew. 2010 would mark their 2nd (yes 2nd) go around with this event.  I went to the first one.  It was ok, but even if it was great I would not blindly hand them $89, plus an unexplained fee of $3.21 in the hopes that they actually put together a good schedule of events and presenters.
This move mirrors the ego-maniacal traits that most of the people I saw at last year’s event possessed. We are awesome, come see just how awesome, and if you don’t see it we’ll talk for an hour about how awesome we are and if then you still don’t see it you are a fool and we hate you, go away.

If you love it, you don’t know much about typography,” he told The Wall Street Journal in 2009, before adding: “If you hate it, you really don’t know much about typography, either, and you should get another hobby.

From Finer Things in Web:

If you mis-enter credentials in the login form at Apple’s MobileMe site, it will shake and wipe out the incorrect password to help reinforce the fact that you goofed up - just like the login form on a Mac.

I’m not sure how to ‘carefully’ use an elevator so I’m just gonna take the stairs.

The bill would make P2P or BitTorrent client development a criminal offense if the distributed software was used for infringement. It also implements an interesting provision called “imminent infringement”, which allows the government to charge people who they think might be about to infringe with a civil offense (for example if you searched “torrent daft punk”). This is among the first official “thought crime” provisions to be proposed by the U.S. government. The bill also makes it a criminal offense to bypass DRM.
